    Gas Main Relocation Client WE Energies Location Milwaukee County, WI Total Estimated Cost $3,000 Utility and survey services were provided as support for the contractor by providing 3D data on an underground gas main as it crossed a railroad track along North 76th Street utilizing the SPAR. This work included: establishing horizontal and vertical control on WCCS; locating 800 linear feet of a 20-inch gas main as well as the survey crew field locating the utility and providing point files. The Spar was used to locate the gas main for excavation and design. The final product consisted of a CAD file which contained the utility in 3D with the elevations of the existing surface. This was done in a plan and profile format.     WIS 23 Freeway Designation and Corridor Preservation Study Client Wisconsin Department of Transportation (NE Region) Location Sheboygan County, WI Total Estimated Cost $73.6 Million Transportation Planning services were preformed for this project to identify the existing and anticipated future roadway conditions along the WIS 23 Corridor from County P (Plymouth) to WIS 32 (Sheboygan Falls). Wisconsin State Highway 23 serves as a main thoroughfare between Fond du Lac and Sheboygan. As the communities along this segment of roadway continue to grow and develop, traffic and demand for access to businesses and residences along it will also increase. A comprehensive public involvement plan was developed, including: • Public information meetings • Local official meetings • Newsletters • One on one meetings with property owners In addition, a stakeholder committee consisting of local officials, business community representatives, agricultural interests and community planners was assembled to provide input on the project plans from a local perspective.     Southeast Planning Unit (Wisconsin) Count Data Processing Support Client Wisconsin Department of Transportation (SE Region) Location Various Counties, WI Total Estimated Cost ​ Traffic Engineering services were provided for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation SE Region Planning Unit, who currently maintains a large set of traffic data that is regularly published for planning and project development purposes. The most significant part of this effort involved extraction and aggregation of vehicle counts from the State Trunk Highway System used in major infrastructure projects like the rebuilding of Milwaukee's Zoo Interchange. It is critical to maintain a healthy, error free and efficient data collection, aggregation and publishing system. The primary goals of this project included: • Assisting in maintenance and continuation of the current data collection and processing efforts of WisDOT and helping provide up-to-date accurate information to Zoo Interchange traffic analyses and design activities as well as to other freeway projects • Developing data exchange format that was suitable for Zoo Interchange and other SE freeway projects • Providing documentation that allowed transfer of techniques and procedures among team members Project Deliverables: • Traffic data maps • Database development • Detector data health reports Project Gallery 1/1 < Previous Project Next Project >

    WIS 138/US 14 Reconstruction Client Wisconsin Department of Transportation (SW Region) Location Dane County, WI Total Estimated Cost $3.8 Million DAAR provided design services for a 4-lane, 0.75 mile urban reconstruction section of the US 14/WIS 138 interchange with two roundabouts, and the reconstruction of WIS 138 from Hill Road to Park Street in the Village of Oregon, WI. Work included design of ramps for the WIS 138/US 14 interchange; new storm sewer and replacement of existing culvert pipes; investigation of traffic needs for WIS 138/US 14 and design of auxiliary lanes; supplemental survey to WIS 138 and US 14 including updated topography, utilities, wetland delineation, and right of way; traffic model for construction, interim and future design of WIS 138/US 14 interchange as roundabouts; design of the WIS 138/US 14 interchange overhead sign structures, one detention basin, and a Transportation Project Plat (TPP). Public involvement items included numerous public meetings, ongoing contact with state and local representatives, and many face-to-face meetings with property owners.
