    South 35th Street Bridge Over Kinnickinnic River, Local Road Client Wisconsin Department of Transportation (SE Region) Location Milwaukee County, WI Total Estimated Cost $1.7 Million Construction management services were provided for the rehabilitation of an existing three span bridge structure constructed in four stages. The project replaced the existing bridge deck, replaced existing bearings and expansion joints, repainting of steel girders, concrete staining, concrete slope paving, concrete pavement approaches and new steel railing. Coordination was required with Milwaukee County Parks, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, Milwaukee County Transit System, and the City of Milwaukee. His responsibilities include reviewing plans for constructability, staging, and bid feasibility, as well as monitoring project budgets and schedules. Greg excels at providing staff oversight, guidance, and mentoring while making client relationships a priority. Clients appreciate Greg’s attention to detail in preparing pay estimates, overseeing construction layout, construction inspection, on-site plan revisions, construction supervision and quality control. He has an extensive background in site development, encompassing grading and stormwater management, as well as municipal services like water and stormwater management. Mr. Bubolz has exceptional public relations skills, adept at coordinating interactions between utilities, consultants, local officials, and private citizens. Greg earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BS) from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics (BS) from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse.   • US 14 Wisconsin River Bridge | DAAR Engineering Inc

    US 14 Wisconsin River Bridge Client Wisconsin Department of Transportation (SW Region) Location Sauk and Iowa Counties, WI Total Estimated Cost $12.8 Million DAAR provided construction management for this 1.5-mile project which included the bridge replacement of an arch truss structure over the Wisconsin River in Sauk and Iowa counties, WI. The new structure is a 10-span precast concrete girder bridge supported on V-shaped piers with architecture formliner and concrete staining. The project involved new roadway alignment, grading, marsh excavation and traffic control. The new structure was completed while maintaining traffic on existing US 14. The existing arch bridge was removed after traffic was switched to the new bridge. Coordination with WisDNR was very important as this project is within the Wisconsin Lower River way System. Extreme care had to be taken not to introduce non-native species into this ecosystem during all phases of construction. Project Deliverables: • Generated all project estimates, contractor payments and records of all bid item quantities using Field Manager • Inspected all phases of bridge and roadway construction • Coordinated all weekly construction scheduling meetings • Performed all material sampling, documentation and finals preparation • DNR coordination required due to construction over navigable water as well as environmentally sensitive Wisconsin River way corridor Project Gallery 1/1 < Previous Project Next Project >

  • WIS 16 Urban Reconstruction | DAAR Engineering Inc

    WIS 16 Urban Reconstruction Client Wisconsin Department of Transportation (SE Region) Location Jefferson and Waukesha Counties, WI Total Estimated Cost $7.4 Million DAAR provided construction management services for the full urban reconstruction of 1.5 miles of WIS 16 (Wisconsin Avenue) in the City of Oconomowoc. All new concrete pavement, curb and gutter, storm sewer, and some sidewalk were replaced as part of this project. The concrete pavement won the State Regional Award. In addition to the roadway reconstruction work, the improvements included a new decorative bridge which won a Small Structures State Award. Innovative filtration devices were built as a means to clean storm water run-off destined for the Okauchee Lake. The project generated a high level of public involvement which included meetings and a website page sponsored by the City of Oconomowoc. Complexities of the project went beyond engineering due to effectively addressing the concerns of the businesses, contractors, residents, local and state government officials in this highly visible project. Challenges faced in the construction management of this urban highway project included maintaining 2-way roadway traffic and pedestrian traffic and access to area businesses during construction, while excavating as much as seven feet in some areas.
